Class 6

I really appreciated all the good links you gave us tonight in class! I just checked out teacher tube, I wasn't aware there was such a website but I'm definately going to keep exploring on it for ideas and methodology...

Thank you so much for showing us what the DIBELS looks like. I have heard so much about it and how it is used to assess reading but I was always curious exactly how it worked. I can imagine it gets difficult to follow along with a good reader, i was struggling tonight to keep track of that podcast and it wasn't even fast! But, thank you so much for letting me FINALLY see the DIBELS.

Lastly, I just wanted to comment on the use of rubrics in the classroom. I am a strong supporter of rubrics and their purpose in the classroom. It is a great way to communicate between teacher and student. If a student does not know what the teacher is looking for then there is no possible way they can complete an assignment correctly. A simple rubric can make the most difficult assignment seem easy because there are no surprises. All through school I have always thanked teachers who used rubrics. In my opinion, there is nothing more important when it comes to teacher expectations of students.
